I tutor IB Physics only, mostly HL students who need sharper problem-solving rather than more notes. My lessons are usually built around past-paper questions, then we stop and fix the bit of theory that caused the mistake. I’m particular about units, graphs and uncertainty, especially for the IA. Mechanics is the topic I return to most, because it shows very quickly where a student is guessing. Slow checking beats rushing.

Hi, I teach IB Physics and keep lessons fairly down to earth. I know the course can feel like maths wearing a lab coat, so I spend a lot of time on setting up equations properly before touching the calculator. I help with SL and HL exam practice, data questions and IA write-ups. Waves and electricity are my favourite topics to teach, mainly because a good diagram can save a lot of confusion. That is where marks improve.

IB Physics Tutor | MSc Applied Physics

I’ve worked with IB Physics students for nine years, including school-based revision groups and one-to-one HL support. My background is in applied physics, so I like linking topics such as fields, circuits and thermal physics to real equipment rather than treating them as formula lists. I also spend time on Paper 3 style data handling and IA evaluation, where many strong students lose easy marks. Small details matter there.

I tutor IB Physics online and only take students following that curriculum. Most of my sessions are with Year 11 and 12 students who are fine in class but get stuck when questions combine two topics. I’m calm but quite direct about working habits; if the algebra is messy, we fix that first. I enjoy teaching circular motion and fields, as those topics reward students who can draw and reason clearly.

My IB Physics tutoring is quite structured, with regular timed questions and short corrections after each session. I’ve supported both SL and HL students, including several doing physics alongside maths-heavy university applications. We usually work from exam papers backwards, checking whether the issue is theory, notation or interpretation of the question. I tend to focus a lot on mechanics, waves and energy.

I’m a former science teacher now working mainly with IB Physics students. I help with HL content, IA planning, uncertainty calculations and extended-response wording. My style is practical rather than chatty; students bring questions, lab data or a weak topic, and we work through it properly. I have a soft spot for astrophysics and quantum ideas, but I also spend plenty of time on the basics like vectors and forces.
